It’s never too late to celebrate! Wait, was it earlier this year?
Being hailed as “one of the most developed countries in the world in the field of future energy”, the UAE celebrated today its National Day, almost 3 months earlier than expected, and in a quite unusual location. Under the theme of Future Energy, Expo 2017 Astana – which concludes on Sunday, September 10 – gathers 122 countries, each of which is entitled its own special day of celebration at the Kazakh World exhibition. Today it was finally the turn of the UAE, and Langpros General Manager Matteo was there for the occasion.
With the UAE and Kazakhstan waving together outside the Expo National Day pavilion, Mansour Al Mansoori, Director General of the National Media Council (NMC) representing the UAE at the celebrations, gave an insightful speech about the significance of this event, which provided the UAE with an opportunity “to showcase their efforts in shaping the future of the energy sector”. He offered his congratulations to the Republic of Kazakhstan for its outstanding success in hosting this event and thanked them for their warm hospitality and support. Most importantly though, he went on claiming that UAE participation at Expo 2017 Astana is particularly significant as “it signals the countdown to the highly anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai”. The 2020 event will be the first expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia and it will focus on the country’s aspirations to build a more innovative, vibrant and prosperous future.
Today’s celebrations allowed the UAE to showcase their culture, heritage and traditions to the international audience, with engaging cultural and artistic performances, along with traditional Emirati dishes for the guests to taste.
At Langpros’ we started our countdown to the next Expo 2020 Dubai, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” today.
