On the 4th of February 2020, over 150 students, youth leaders, advocates, and educational representatives from all around the world gathered for the Voices of Human Fraternity forum. The event was held on the anniversary of the signing of the human fraternity document, with the aim of honoring those who make human fraternity a reality and to address young people’s hopes and aspirations for a more peaceful, and harmonious future for all.
Langpros at the Global conference of Human Fraternity in 2019
Back in February 2019, Langpros had been chosen to perform an important task for the Global conference of Human Fraternity. Langpros had the honor to carry out simultaneous interpreting for the Global conference of the Human Fraternity back in February 2019, when Pope Francis visited Abu Dhabi.
After the Pope’s visit to the UAE in February 2019, in August of the same year, the UAE Government announced the implementation of the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together signed by the Head of the Catholic Church and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Ahmed el-Tayyeb:
The document is the blueprint to “guide future generations” towards tolerance and respect for diversity, equal rights for women and appreciation for all religions.
The Voices of Human Fraternity forum 2020
“Youth is the hope of our future.” A widely known saying goes.
On this event, students, youth leaders, and remarkable speakers from all around the world came together to celebrate the fundamentals of the human fraternity and to discuss the contribution, hopes, and aspirations of the youth, with an aim to motivate and inspire young people of the Human Fraternity’s core values of compassion, understanding, unity, and peace.
The event’s highlights included inspirational and motivational speeches from Leymah Gbowee, 2011 Nobel peace prize winner; Latifa ibn Ziaten, Founder, Imad Association for Youth and Peace; Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Founder Akhuwat; Daniela Pompei, Director, Humanitarian Corridors; Ambassador Susan Esserman, Founder and Director, University of Maryland SAFE Center for Human Trafficking; Yasmin Sherif, Director, Education Cannot Wait.
Langpros important contribution at the Human Fraternity forum 2020
Langpros is once again trusted with the important task of providing Italian to English and vice versa simultaneous interpreting for the said event. The importance of this task goes beyond accuracy. It is important for our simultaneous interpreters to convey the message, the essence and the emotions behind every speech and dialogue delivered by the speakers in hopes of reaching out to the youth, for their message to penetrate deep into the young people’s mind and soul.
Our simultaneous interpreters have performed the important task of interpreting speeches and dialogues from English to Italian and vice versa for the said Forum, enabling everyone to convey and comprehend the core aim of this event: hearing the voice of humanity.
