  • As most travellers know by now, Dubai’s expo 2020 has rescheduled its dates due to COVID-19. According to the updates, the world event will be held on October 1, 2021, and will last for a good 6 months, until March 31, 2022.

Of course, there will be new regulations in compliance with the anti-covid laws. In this article we will give a small overview of how to access the expo Dubai 2021 and what to visit during the tour.

    Anti-covid rules

Regarding the fact that Expo site would only open to visitors who are vaccinated, the Minister stated no decisions have been made yet. However, they are strongly encouraging people to get the vaccine, since also the workforce will get it before the event. Still, vaccine won’t be mandatory.

Multiple levels of precautionary security measures will be implemented, along with rapid testing and mandatory RT-PCR testing. Of course, the use of masks will be mandatory too. The good news is that no Country will be rejected to participate in the event, regardless of its pandemic status.

When will the expo Dubai 2021 be held and what to expect

More than 25 million visitors are expected to attend Expo Dubai 2021. Notably, more than 70% will come from international countries, marking a true record of visitors from around the world since the Expo’s inception 168 years ago.

More than 191 international pavilions will be on display, including:

    • Sustainability District
    • Mobility District
    • Opportunity District

In addition, there will be a section called Programme for People and Planet, and a space dedicated to Expo Initiatives.

Regarding the so-called experiences, tourists will be able to live unforgettable moments related to:

    • Innovation and Technology
    • entertainment
    • Arts & Culture
    • Future of Food
    • Architecture & Design
    • Business & Entrepreneurship
    • Education Programmes

    What to visit during Expo?

During the Expo Dubai 2021, as you have already seen, you can watch any kind of attraction regardless of your personal taste. As the Emirates is one of the most innovative countries in the world, we will mainly focus on these types of experiences.

The biggest pavilions for Innovation and Technology, in fact, are the UAE Pavilion and the UK Pavilion.

In the Emirates pavilion, you can admire attractions about the future of air travel. Did you know, for example, that Emirates is an award-winning international airline?

In the UK pavilion, on the other hand, we will talk about Artificial Intelligence. Here, you can find all kinds of innovations ranging from the commercialization of space to exhibitions of some experts in the field. The project, after all, is inspired by a project of Stephen Hawking, the greatest exponent of the world of technology.

How to get to Expo and how to buy tickets?

The Expo 2020 site is located in Dubai South, midway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The nearest landmark is Al Maktoum International Airport.

So, to reach the exhibition we suggest going to one of the three airports serving the two cities: Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai International Airport (DXB), and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AHU).

Afterward, it is only necessary to take one of the many means of transport available in Dubai, including the Hyperloop, which takes just 12 minutes.

Regarding the purchase of tickets, it is possible to buy them on the official website at very convenient prices:

    • 1-day admission pass for adults (18-59 years old) costs 95 AED (€22).
    • Multi-day pass for adults (18-59 years old) for 30 days costs 195 AED (45 euros).
    • Adults season pass (18-59 years old), which lasts 6 months costs 495 AED (115 euros).
    • Children and teenagers aged 17 or under, students, disabled people, and adults aged 60 or more can enter for free.
    • Companions of disabled persons pay half price.
    • Tickets for children under six will be issued to visitors only upon arrival at the Expo entrance and cannot be reserved online.

Tickets can be purchased here. If, on the other hand, you want to have a complete vision of what Expo Dubai 2021 will be like, then we advise you to read Expo official document.
