Langpros at the Zayed Sustainability Prize Stakeholder Dinner

On the evening of 21 May the media spotlight was captured by the Zayed Sustainability Prize and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Stakeholder Dinner, hosted at the St. Regis Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The event was organized by Masdar, a UAE-based major international player in renewable energy and sustainable urban development. The company was represented by Mohamed Al Ramahi, the chief executive officer, and Lamya Fawwaz, the executive director for brand and strategic initiatives.

The Zayed Future Energy Prize was created in 2008 and since then its 66 winners have provided effective help to over 307 million people all over the world. This year the focus of the award has been shifted onto sustainability, thereby modifying its name, which has become Zayed Sustainability Prize. The prize comprises five categories: health, food, energy, water, and global high schools.

The Zayed Sustainability Prize featured a complementary event, that is the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. It is to be considered the largest sustainability gathering in the Middle East and it aims to raise awareness regarding the latest environmental phenomena and, most of all, to take actions against climate change.

Overall, the purpose of the event was to be an agent for advances in science and technology in the field of sustainability and to recognize and foster private and public initiatives focused on sustainable development.

Langpros’ Key Role at the Zayed Sustainability Prize Stakeholder Dinner

We were chosen by event organizers to perform simultaneous interpreting services English to Arabic. We selected a highly qualified and experienced simultaneous interpreter who is specialized in the field of sustainability and renewable energies.

Simultaneous interpreting is time-saving since, unlike consecutive interpreting, it does not force a speaker to stop in order to allow an interpreter to translate his or her speech into another language. This type of interpreting requires specific interpretation equipment, mainly booths and headsets. For the Zayed Sustainability Prize stakeholder dinner, we were in charge of providing the whole equipment, namely a booth and headsets for 50 auditors, as well as professional assistance by one of our specialized technicians.
