The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Climate Change & Environment and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) used our simultaneous interpreting services for their regional workshop. The two-day workshop was held on March 14 and 15, 2017 in Dubai, UAE. Ministry of Agriculture and Food officials from across the Middle East gathered to discuss the World Organization for Animal Health standards to facilitate safe international trade. OIE’s workshop featured delicate topics such as the welfare of animals in international trade, disease prevention methods, risk assessment strategies, and import and export regulations. These required diplomatic translations, which our experienced interpreters provided.
The intimate workshop promoted the implementation of OIE standards. We provided two simultaneous interpreters with expertise in trade policy and international relations to translate this dialogue. Our interpreters were also given materials on OIE standards to prepare for the workshop and ensure they used the exact translation of the technical terms needed. We outfitted OIE’s workshop with our full conference equipment, including our soundproof booth, control set, conference microphones, and infrared earphones. The interpreters in the soundproof booth translated each presentation, comment and question from English to Arabic. The audience then received this translation through personal headsets. While the workshop did not experience technical issues, our skilled technician remained on hand for both days of the workshop to ensure our technology performed perfectly.
