Hassantuk (“Secure and protect” in Arabic) is a smart city initiative protecting lives and properties in case of a fire or another life-threatening event through a state-of-the-art centralized smart system connecting all UAE buildings.
On the 10thof October 2018, on the occasion of the Launch of Hassantuk in Abu Dhabi, Langpros took part in the event providing simultaneous interpretation services and the necessary interpreting equipment.
Hassantuk
Hassantuk is the centralized alarm system developed by the Ministry of the Interior in collaboration with Etisalat to prevent casualties and property damage in case of a fire or other hazardous events in commercial buildings, apartments, and villas.
In case of need, a signal is sent to the Hassantuk building, guaranteeing a faster and more effective response by providing the exact location of the danger to emergency services.
The initiative targets over 500,000 buildings in the UAE and is part of the National Agenda 2021, which aims at making the United Arab Emirates one of the safest countries in the world to live in.
Langpros’ Role
The press conference organizers choose Langpros to provide simultaneous Arabic–English interpretation throughout the event.
Our specialized technicians installed the interpreting equipment on-site before the event, with a soundproof booth for the interpreters and 20 infrared headsets for the audience.
For this event, we selected two of our best English-Arabic simultaneous interpreters: as the task of interpreting without any delay is incredibly stressful, professional interpreters work in turns of around 20 minutes.
