After conducting over 29,000 additional Covid-19 tests, the Ministry of Health and Prevention recently announced the full recovery of 91 patients.

From Friday 24 April, the UAE Government decided to ease the restrictions put in place against the diffusion of Coronavirus, in concomitance with the start of Ramadan.

The aim is to deal with the pandemic while continuing to ensure strict and preventive measures.

Here are the main activities that will partially resume:

Open Malls

Malls in Dubai are now open 10 hours per day, from 12 to 10 PM. Access to shops and restaurants is limited to 30% of their capacity, and events inside the malls are canceled in order to prevent overcrowding.

Every mall has a room dedicated to medical emergencies and adults above the age of 60 and children under 12 are not allowed inside the premises.

Sterilization procedures are operational 24/7 to provide the maximum level of safety to the visitor.

Abu Dhabi also adopted a large series of health & safety guidelines for the partial reopening of malls.

Movement of Individuals

Individuals are now allowed to leave their homes without a permit between 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Outside these hours, people can leave their home only for medical emergencies.

All individuals are required to wear face masks at all times and to observe the 2-meter precautionary distance from others.

Family visits to first and second-degree relatives are permitted, but public and private gatherings of more than 5 people are still not allowed. Visiting relatives with medical conditions or over 60 years old should be avoided.

Office Re-openings

Employees are now allowed to work in offices only if absolutely necessary. The maximum number of employees in the office should be under 30% of the total workforce. In order to guarantee the safety of workers, everyone must wear face masks and meetings should not involve more than 5 people at the time.

Daily sterilization of the workplace is mandatory.

Restaurants and Cafes

Restaurants and cafés can resume their activities with limited capacity, reducing the maximum number of customers in the venue to 30% of the total seat capacity.

In order to avoid every chance of contagion, restaurants will provide single-use cutlery, avoid shisha and buffets, and waiters will wear face masks.

Food delivery will be available from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Public Transport

From Sunday 26 April, public transport service in Dubai resumed its activities with the normal tariff system.

Red and green Dubai metro lines will be open from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM. All passengers and employees have to observe general safety measures and wear face masks.

The same measures must be followed by staff and passengers also in taxis, buses, and stations.

Car sharing, water transport, tram, limousine, are still suspended.

Other General Guidelines

To avoid the risk of infections, mosques have not been reopened yet. Group prayers are only allowed within family members residing in the same house.

As a general rule, all people are required to wear face masks when outside their homes and to keep a 2-meter distance from other individuals.

How we can help you in this time of change

Langpros’ activities never stopped during the lockdown. We continued working remotely in order to assist the language needs of companies and individuals.

We’ve always had linguists on standby in most of the time zones thanks to our delocalized team.

After the Government outlined the new measures, we reopened our office in compliance with the guidelines while the majority of our team members are still working at home.

In fact, our range of language services is fully available from remote and we can provide video remote interpreting services thanks to our new SmartLangPro app.
