Majid Al Futtaim Ventures and Reem Mall used our simultaneous interpreting services to help announce their new collaboration. The joint press conference was hosted at the Kempinski Mall of the Emirates Hotel, Dubai, on April 16th, 2017. Over fifty guests attended the conference, including representatives from various media outlets. The press conference included speeches about the new Reem Mall collaboration by Shane Eldstrom, CEO of Al Farwaniya Property Developments LLC; Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures; and Damian Latham, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Leisure & Entertainment. After these speeches, a Q&A session was held to provide further information to the press.
Reem Mall is a $1 billion project that, with the help of Majid Al Futtaim, will now also host the worlds largest indoor snow park and the UAE’s first standalone snow park. Majid Al Futtaim, the owner and operator of the Mall of the Emirates, will also run a large family entertainment center, Carrefour hypermarket and VOX cinema complex in Reem Mall. The mall is set to open in 2020 on Reem Island, which is located in what has been deemed “the new Abu Dhabi.” To announce this groundbreaking collaboration and exciting new development for Reem Mall, the companies required two simultaneous interpreters and full conference equipment. From our soundproof booth with personalized Reem Mall branding, the professional interpreters translated the speeches and the question and answer session from Arabic to English in almost real-time. The audience heard this translation through our hand-held, infrared earphones. One of our skilled technicians also accompanied our interpreters to ensure there were no technical difficulties during the press conference.
