Highlights 2016: Interpreting for the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and More

In 2016, we once again had the honor of providing companies, government ministries, and international agencies and embassies our interpreting services. This year, we worked with several new government agencies, international organizations, companies, and non-profits. We worked with the World Organization for Animal Health and the European Union, giving them the tools to transmit their message to a more global audience through our English to Arabic translation. We provided other simultaneous English to Arabic and Arabic to English interpretation for both the Dubai Department of Economic Development and the Dubai Islamic Bank. For New York University in Abu Dhabi, we interpreted an event from English to Spanish. And for Focus Humanitarian Assistance Afghanistan, our interpreters translated from English to Dari. We also worked events that required translation for multiple language combinations. This includes the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai’s event, for which we interpreted from Italian to English, Italian to Arabic and English to Arabic.

In addition to expanding our network, we were pleased to have continued our partnership with several companies. We were once again chosen to provide Commercial Bank International (CBI) our simultaneous interpretation services at their General Assembly Meeting. The annual meeting gathered of all of their board members and shareholders in Ras Al Khaimah to review the bank’s performance. Our professional interpreters translated every speech, presentation and discussion from Arabic to English. We also kept one of our skilled technicians on-site during the event to prevent any technical difficulties from happening.

Another highlight from 2016 was when we helped the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture deliver a presentation on their Sugar Industry at the annual Kingsman Sugar Conference in Dubai. The conference gathered expert economists from around the world to discuss the rising consumption and price of sugar. As China is the UAE’s second largest bilateral trade partner and Dubai’s largest partner, it played was given an important role in the conference. Sugar is an important commodity traded between the two countries as the UAE is home to the largest standalone sugar refinery in the world and China is one of the world’s largest sugar importers. With help from our simultaneous interpretation and full conference equipment, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture discussed China’s import and export market and its goal to become sugar self-sufficient. Our handpicked interpreters used their prior knowledge of economics and experience with the field’s technical terminology to translate the presentation from Chinese to English. In addition to a soundproof booth, we provided the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture with microphones, control units, infrared earphones, personal headsets, and one of our skilled technicians to oversee the event.

We at LangPros were happy to help so many companies and organizations convey their various messages in 2016. No matter how big or small the event was, our top priority was transmitting the proper meaning and emotion for each and every message.
