We had the pleasure of accompanying Mr. Roger Dubuis, master watchmaker and name behind Roger Dubuis watches, on his first visit to the Middle East. During his whirlwind three-day visit to Dubai, Mr. Dubuis used our consecutive interpreting services for all his interpreting needs. The world-renowned Swiss-watchmaker studied at the Watchmaking School in Geneva and has been working in the industry for over 50 years. His company, started in 1995, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015. To mark this momentous occasion, Mr. Dubuis re-launched a unique restoration project, Millésime. The project honors the company’s inaugural watch collection, Hommage, by combining technology, mechanics, fine watchmaking, and style. Several of these limited edition and exclusive watches were on display during Mr. Dubuis visit to Dubai. On his last day, Media representatives, watch collectors and watch aficionados joined Mr. Dubuis for a cocktail party in the Dubai Mall Fashion Lounge to celebrate the company’s anniversary and new collection.
Throughout his trip to Dubai, Mr. Dubuis attended various media events, interviews, celebratory gatherings, and one-on-one meetings with VIP clients. One of our professional interpreters accompanied Mr. Dubuis to all of his important events, providing consecutive interpretations for every conversation. Whether Mr. Dubuis was speaking with the media in interviews, mingling with guests at parties, or meeting important collectors, our experienced interpreter stood by his side as his personal language liaison. Our interpreter would sit or stand next to Mr. Dubuis, translate his comments from French to English and then translate the interviewer or watch aficionado’s response from English to French. Each interpretation went beyond just translating the vocabulary and translating the tone and emotion as well. The value of each conversation was preserved, allowing Mr. Dubuis, his interviewers, and his guests to truly connect.
With the help of Langpros, Mr. Dubuis was able to celebrate his company’s anniversary with various important watch enthusiasts and to conduct interviews with the press.
