Highlights of 2014: Interpreting for the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems

2014 was a monumental year for us here at LangPros. We provided our interpreting services for various events and companies throughout the year. Two of our favorite events were when we interpreted for the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation and for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

At the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation’s Executive Policy Board Conference, we provided our simultaneous interpreting services from English to Spanish and English to German. The board of the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation gathered to discuss city planning and the upcoming Global Public Transport Summit (UITP) in Milan. The three-day conference was held at the Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi from the 23rd to the 25th of April. Our interpreters were selected based on their previous experience and knowledge in translating for a UAE Ministry.  We also provided the Department of Transportation with our full conference equipment, including four soundproof booths, microphones, control sets, infrared earphones, etc. The audience received the translation into their desired language through personal headsets, which we distributed upon entry.

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems hosted the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission and Post-Election Review Seminar for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Here, we once again provided our simultaneous interpreting services. The conference took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai from October 11th to October 15th. Over 35 election reviewers from various organizations gathered to participate in group discussions and to listen to various presentations. Keynote speakers at this event included the Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services SECCA Project, and the Director of Europe and Asia for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Our skilled interpreters translated the presentations, speeches and discussions from English to Dari. We selected our interpreters for this event due to their experience translating diplomatic events to important personnel. Over the five-day conference, we also provided our full conference equipment and one of our skilled technicians to oversee the performance of our technology throughout the event.

We were happy to assist both the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems with their conferences. Multi-day conferences like these share and present a considerable amount of information to the audience. In situations where this information needs translation, it is important to have reliable interpreters and technology to transmit your message. At LangPros, we provide that.
