Interpreting for Coursera, the E-Learning Platform

interpreting for e-learning

Thanks to the development of the Internet, online learning has become a solid alternative to traditional education and training to guarantee lifelong learning of employees and unlock their full potential.

Coursera is the first e-learning platform in the world, offering over 3,000 courses, 300 specializations, and 13 world-class degrees. On the 13th of February 2019 they announced their expansion into the Middle East region with a press conference held in Dubai. We at Langpros contributed to the event with our consecutive interpreting services.

Enabling Multilingual Press Conferences

Interpretation at press conferences is often needed by companies expanding to the UAE market, in order to answer the questions of local and foreign journalists and present at best their services and products to potential clients and investors.

This was exactly the case with Coursera, a leading e-learning platform announcing expansion to the Middle East region with a conference held on the 13th of February at the Grand Hotel in Dubai.

Interpretation at media events involves a lot of responsibility, and it is crucial for the success of the company to select qualified professional interpreters, able to work with great concentration and attentiveness in an official context with a large number of journalists, reporters and media representatives, in order to convey the right message.

The Event

At Coursera’s conference, our English – Arabic consecutive interpreters helped present to the audience the partnership of Coursera for Business (the branch of the company focusing on workforce training in private companies and governmental organizations) with the Abu Dhabi School of Government, DEWA, Etihad Airways, TECOM Group, and Dubai Asset

Management to further their employees’ development goals.

Questions and answers were not coordinated in advance but promptly translated by the interpreter, who conveyed in Arabic the words of Leah Belsky, Coursera Vice President of Enterprise. In her speech, she focused on the ever-growing need for workplace learning in today’s evolving technology landscape.

Most notably, the partnership with the Abu Dhabi School of Government will involve over 60,000 government employees in training on cutting edge skills such as Artificial Intelligence, data science, and digital transformation.

Langpros chooses only the best trained interpreters for your language projects. No matter the size of the event, our experts will suggest you the right solution to provide the best services for your audience.
